PP = double platinum. You wouldn't want to be caught with only single platinum, now would you? APP985 is the one to get.

 

Since you have a 2005 with the coil rail you will be happier with the APP's. '99 and under TJ's are fine with single plat.

 

You need the APP985 plugs for your year Jeep.

 

The XP985's work just as good. I ran them for 30k.

Good decision, the AP985 can eventually cause hard to diagnose problems with a rough running engine with the newer 4.0L distributorless engines. It's with the older non-fussy 4.0L with a distributor where the AP985 is an excellent choice and what I run in my '97 4.0L engine.

 

They can be tough to find. The only place near me that stocks them all the time is Napa...

 

Advance auto and Autozone stock them where I live.

 

Carquest is cheapest :thumbsup:

Thanks for your help everyone. I returned the AP's and now have the APP's. Getting ready to install them but have one more question. If I remember correctly, I saw on here someone stating that you gap them to .035. Napa, where I got them, states .040. Which one is it, or does it make that big a difference??

 

they should be pre-gapped to 0.035 out of the box. That is the gap you want. So, other than double checking the gap on each plug just to be safe, go ahead and install them :cheers2:

 

The sticker under your hood should tell you .035

 

not sure if it's still going on, but check autolites website for a rebate. i was able to get $2.00 back for ea. plug on the XP'S.
