The 40 series is slightly deeper than stock,but sounds nice.The Super 44 is much deeper,but not obnoxious.

 

Here's my buds Jeep with super 40 and with a magnaflow hi flow cat. Vid was taken with his blackberry but you get the point. It sounds good IMO.

im going with the magnaflow hi flow cat . but i could not decide on the muffler . now is the super 44 louder then the one in that video ? right now i have a super turbo dynomax an its alright but to me its sounds just like stock .

 

I have the 40 series and magnaflow high flow cat. They sound good to me. But somedays I wish it was a little quieter.

 

My buddy has a 40 series on his 4.0L Cherokee and it sounds good if you like it loud and deep when gettin on the gas. Autos and Manuals sound different to me anyways. Im still deciding on what muffler to get too.

 

so i was told today that the super 40 is louder then the super 44 . an if i want really loud to get the super10 . ive been behind a jeep witha super 10 an thats just crazy haha . i think im gonna go with the super 40 possibly

 

pitbull1967 is your setup loud in the cab or is it just outside ?
an are you running 2.25 or 2.50 pipe ?

 

I have the 44. Its loud. I wish I would have gone with the 70 series. My muffler dumps before the rear axle though so thats why its so lound to me.

 

Ive had the super 44 on my XJ and now my TJ. IMO probaly one of the best sounds ive heard come out of a 4.0. Sounds, throatiness as well as loudness also lies alot in the tip you put on, which is something most people dont know. I had a rectagular tip under the bumper on my XJ and it sounds really throaty. On the wrangler ( granted the distance between muffler and tip is shorter ) I put a 3" slash cut tip trumpeting up and out on an angle from the corner of the rear.....Shes real loud, and real throaty at lower speeds but quiets down fairly nicely on the highway.

 

having driven jeeps with identical tailpipes, factory cats, and one having a 44 while the other having a 40, the 40 has a lower sound, while the 44 is not as deep, but louder
