I am planning on taking out the carpet and I want to coat the tub. Is there a quality roll on bed liner do it your self product out there, or should I just get it professionally rhino lined?

It looks like I am going with monstaliner. I talked to a specialist there and he said a gallon kit would cover my CJ tub. I did however call Ziebart to see how much a Rhino lining would actually be and he said that if the tub is on the frame it would cost $1500!

Maybe its because of the Rhino Lining product? I mean, I couldnt believe it was $1500 either. He said if the tub was off he would charge like $750. I guess the labor involved to tape off stuff that shouldnt be sprayed is worth $750? A monstaliner kit will run me about $140, and $140<<<<$1500 so that is good enough for me. I like doing it myself anyway. Plus while it is drying and I cannot drive it, that gives me time to work on the electrical and get my sound system going!

I had the inside of my tub lined by a Rhino lining shop and it only cost me $450.00. There is either a communication break down between you and Ziebart or the guy is trying to rip you off.

I've seen both roll on and professionally sprayed on liners, both seem to be effective and look sharp in the end. I felt (and it could just be me) that the professional lining seemed thicker and I wanted to be sure of no rust issues in the future so I went with the pro shop.

Good luck!

I used the Dupli-Color brand roll-on product, with good overall results. I did have one area come off of the bed, but that was because the winch was rattling around back there and broke the liner away. I was disappointed because it is supposed to be a truck bed liner and didn't hold up to that, but no issues anywhere else.

I called a different dealer and again was told $1500. This time I specifically told him Jeep CJ5 tub and he said it was labor intensive to tape and cover anything that wasnt being sprayed. How is this possible? Are you guys generalizing rhino lining like kleenex or coke? I called the actual Rhino Lining brand dealer. Maybe I am not saying something right, but I keep getting told $1500!

Nope.... just suggestions...... why waste the money on "rhino lining" when there are cheaper just as good products?

I did my tub last year ,you can check out my pictures its a few pages into my thread. I am very happy with my lining so far. I sprayed it on and it only cost me $85.00 for the kit and $12.00 for the undercoat spray gun. Seems to be holding up great, just remember , the whole job is the prep!!!!!!! I don't care what product you use if the prep is not done correctly it's going to peel and lift, then you really have problems. Just remember , when you have it all sanded to your satisfaction , wash it down and you will still see unsanded spots , sand it again, I sanded and cleaned mine 4 times . Good luck
