I have an old Coleman steel cooler that I wouldn't trade for anything. Like I said, it's old, so they may not be made as well anymore. That thing has been on more camping/road trips than I could put a number on. It's beat up, scratched up, and covered in stickers from around the country and it's a great cooler. I've packed fish in ice while camping and if packed properly they'll be almost frozen by the time I get them home. I once had to chip a fresh salmon fillet out of it three days later. Mine also came with an insulated cover which actually does help on hot summer days. When my family comes to visit, I usually have a big spread of food and drinks. I fill that cooler up with beer, sodas, water, and one 25lb bag of ice. As usual I go overboard and have a lot left over. If I keep the insulated cover on it on my back porch, I can grab an ice cold soda or beer for the next week. Then again, it all may be a nostalgia thing and I just won't accept that my cooler might just suck.
