Hey guys im new to this forum as of today! Ive been reading the forum for sometime now and thought it was time i became a member... Im looking to put a lift on my 95 yj 4cyl. and saw the 2" add-a-leaf kit from black diamond. I have 31" tires on my jeep already but want a lil more height.... also planning on a 1" body lift down the road.
ros and cons of this lift?
recommendations?
pics?

Thanks and sorry im new at this!!!

No pro's, just cons.
It will ride like crap unfortunately.
If you want to lift it a little, you are MUCH better off with either a cheap lift kit that replaces the springs, or up to a 1" body lift.
Rough Country makes about the cheapest lift kit, and their customer service is second to none.

The Yj's use the front AND rear though, so double the beating...

Typically they just make the springs stiffer. But they are cheap, or at least they used to be. IMHO they are just a band aid, but some people use them. If you're not worried about a stiffer ride and you're a typical broke Jeep owner, then I suppose they could work for you. ;)
But IMO I'd save my $$$ for a nicer set of BDS or OME springs and shocks. You also would'nt need a BL with new springs, either.

Bandaid, but before you spend the money, get under there and make sure your existing leafs are in decent shape. I did my lift because my original springs were broken in at least one leaf on every corner at the hole for the original sliders, meaning at least 4-6" of leaf was missing. To be fair, my jeep has never been driven by an old lady to church every sunday...

I'm with these guys. It's a bandaid. Save the $100 or so bucks and get a kit. I'm running a 3.5" Black Diamond and its pretty good. I also run slightly longer boomerang shackles front and rear and a 1" body lift is in the works plus TJ flares.

I added some 3" add AAL to my 2-1/2" lift springs. Got about another 1" or 2" out of it. Rides rougher but no more fender rub. I'm happy.
