yea the speakers in all the doors are 6 1/2's...

 

:brickwall :brickwall :brickwall Ok so my speakers have taken a dump and need to be replaced. Ive got someone who can give me a new set of 6 1/2 inch speakers for the doors. will these fit? What size are the stock ones? Ive searched but couldnt find what I was looking for. I hate asking stereo questions related to the jeep but ive gotta have some music.

I just relaced my front door speakers, and I used 6 1/2in drivers. But it seems the hole is more like 7" so I had to make a tab to allow secure mounting of one of the 3 screws. I kind of closed down one side of the hole by about 3/8".

 

stock size is 6-3/4", 6-1/2" will work but u will need new mounting holes.

 

Also the stock speakers are 2 ohm. Most replacements are 4 ohm. They will work with the stock head unit but the balance may be a little off unless you replace all the speakers.

 

on my GCL 98 i have woofers in the door and tweeters in the dash. If you have that set up it will sound bad if you dont replace both of them and the cross overs...

Stock speakers are 4 ohm not 2 ohm.
