Eentually I am going to get a vertical gun rack to mount in the front like the police style ones. They make them in one or two gun models. They also make ones that fit between the seats and angle up slightly for ease of access. I just Googled the term "Jeep gun racks" or something similar. The seacrh yeilded some good links. I am sorry, I didnt save any of them because I figured they would be easy to find later as well.

Thanks for the input! That's how I found the few I've seen was by google search. There just aren't any reviews on any of them I liked. The one I'm interested in mounts overhead and it's a two gun model. I just have a lot questions about it. I wonder if it requires drilling, if its good quality and stable, if I'm gonna hit my head on it every time I get in my jeep, will my AR-15 fit in it? Several people have mounted one in there UTV and really bragged on them. I was hoping someone on here had tried one out and could clue me in.

 

I was looking for a gun rack a few months ago and came across this one. Looks like a nice set-up, and if I remember correctly there's no drilling involved.

That one looks pretty good, I have a 2006 Wrangler LJ. This looks easy to install and pretty secure with the guns up out of the way.

My TJ has a sound bar. When the Soft top is on my AR or shotgun rides on top of the bar and is held in place by 2 custom 2" straps I built from webbing and and HD buckles (12.00) from REI. When the hard top is on the gun hangs under the bar by the same straps. Been all kinds of off road and on without worries. Got stopped by Johnny Law one summer day. No top and The blk rifle was strapped to the underside of the SB. Trooper didn't seem to notice.

 

I have a sound bar too, the only thing is I normally take two guns with me and I hunt with a bow a lot also. That overhead rack is pretty sweet, I'm gonna see if Santa will bring it to me. Early.

 

I have a vertical mount between the seats for quick access as well, but these are great for traveling and in dusty hunting locations.
