How much lift in the front would stock WJ V8 springs give me on a WJ with the 4.0? Thanks

Aside from the upcountry, all stock springs were for the same height, but they weren't entirely the same. There were several different spring rates:

I swapped out my stock I6 w/o tow package springs for V8 w/ tow package springs off a parts Jeep, and the result was a noticeably firmer ride. Both sets of springs were accompanied with a 2" BB.

So OP, you will not get any lift out of it, but you will get a firmer ride. If you have the time to play around with and you're getting the springs for free, and doing the work yourself, and don't plan on lifting anytime soon, it's worth it. But, if you're paying someone else to do the work, buying the springs, plan on lifting in foreseeable future, or are looking for significant results, don't bother with the useless baby step. Just build towards what you're going to want.

Thanks, guys! The springs were coming from a donor V8 WJ that I will be getting the 3.73 axles from anyway, and, for some strange reason, I thought the V8 springs were different. I know about the Up Country springs, just trying to find out what WJ had them is a PITA. This is going on my wife's '04 2WD WJ that I'm converting to 4WD. As for lifts, all I'm doing is a 2" BB and 31x10.50's, it's just going to be a mall crawler with some time on the beach and occasional trail. Hell, it was all I could do to get her to agree to this, LOL! Thanks for the replies!

So, The88thpianoman, the springs for the V8 with tow package was a good move as far as ride goes? I don't want the ride to be too harsh, but, I put an OEM tow hitch/wiring on hers already, and, with the 3.73 gears, I would basically have the tow package. I would like to flat tow my CJ9 for short distances with the WJ, but, I would want to add a trans cooler. It will be no extra work involved in swapping springs as I'm swapping axles at the same time from the same two WJ's.

If you really want an improvement out of the springs, skip the pucks and get 2" lift springs with a firmer spring rate.
