I have seen jeep liberty's with wrangler 17 inch wheels on rocklizardfabrications.com. Does anyone know the offset of stock renegade wheels and the 17 inch rubicon wheels? I would like to buy a set and change the look of my liberty. here is a link to what I am looking at.

Are you talking about this KJ:

There aren't any KJ's with 17" wheels on my site. The new JK Wrangler Rubicons had the 17" rims if I remember correctly, but they are a 5x5" bolt pattern which will not work on the KJ. The older Rubicon rims are 16" rims, 8" wide, with a 5.5" backspacing. The stock KJ renegade rims are 16x7" with 5.25" backspacing. So, the Rubi rims will stick out 3/4" more than the stock Rene rims.

Shoot me an email and we can discuss what you are looking to achieve. Not sure if you are wanting a wider stance, or just a taller wheel. They didn't put any 17's on the Rubicon until the JK Wrangler, which is the wrong bolt pattern. Those in that picture are the stock 16" Rubicon rims, that have been painted.

Anyways, shoot me an email and I can help you figure out whatever you are trying to do or just have tech questions.

I wonder if the OP from 5-08 waited till the SpiderTrax 4.5 to 5" spacers came out. 17" JK rims are dirt cheap now days. I wonder what the backspacing is on those. Hummmmmm make me wonder.

EDIT: Looked it up - 6" backspacing so with the 4.5 to 5" spacer your at 4.75. Should work fine I would think. :D
