Hello fellow Jeep enthusiasts, I'm currently stuck and was wondering if anyone here knows if this is possible. Currently my 2008 Grand Cherokee 3.7L automatic has a dead battery and I would need to roll it to another parking space nearby (~15 feet away). Is there anyway for me to put the transmission into neutral when I can't turn the engine over?

Thanks again and beers on me if you folks are near and want to meet up.

That’s interesting... I thought the shift interlock was still all mechanical on these. Maybe the NAG1 is different then the 545s .

Anyways, like said already, your best bet is a jump of some sort, but I guess if you were really in bind and had a set of wrenches, you could remove the front drive shaft and then you wouldn’t have to worry about the transmission because the jeep will roll in park even. Lol
Good luck

If the battery is weak, the park interlock solenoid should work fine still. If it's completely dead, you can get into the shift mechanism through the small door on it and get to neutral that way. Need a little pick it something to get the door open, it's about 1/4"x1/2".
