Rubber Mat between Fuel Tank and Skid?

Hey guys.. I am doing a frame off restore on my 1976 CJ5. I have a new fuel tank, new skid plate, and new tank strap. Do I need a rubber sheet between the fuel tank and tank skid? Maybe even on the tank strap?

I don't remember anything when I took the old tank down. I've given it a shake with everything put together.. seems fine, but am worried that there may be a rattle or vibration without one?

Yeah I thought it was perfect too.. especially with the "material intended for use where resistance to petroleum based lubricants and exposure to the elements is required".

In fact.. it would be on it's way to me if it wasn't $12 for shipping! I'll probably break down and buy it though... maybe drop by the home depot on the way home to check out that shower pan liner.

I used the factory liner from a 20 gal. poly tank. The material is a little thicker, and similar in consistency, than an inner-tube. i.e. for a tractor tire. If you can find a used inner-tube and cut it to the proper dimensions I think it would work rather well. JMHO:)
