I just bought a 2004 jeep grande cherokee limited edition? Is there anybody that has a quadra trac 2 vehicle? Can someone tell me how good are they in the snow.

If it works properly, it's not bad. Keep in mind it's rear wheel drive until after the rears slip. Then it transfers power to the front. A properly working case should do that fast enough that you probably won't even notice. As they age though, it takes longer for the transfer of power to happen. Which means your rear end might slid all the way out before it sends power to the front. And then there's the transfer cases that don't work at all because the po neglected it or put the wrong fluid in it. Which is quite common with that case.

The tyres have a big effect on your traction on the snow. I changed from Wrangler street based tyres to Grabbers ATs and it was like night and day........its good but would be much better if it was quadra drive. Qt 2 sends power the the side of the axle with least grip (open difs) so can loose traction to the axle if one side is on ice. QD does not do that.

Sent from the Dark Side using only the Force.

Does your shifter basel say qudra-drive II?

My 04 Laredo is a snowmobile with rubber tires. With the qudra-drive II.

Grammys 04 limited even better. Haven't had 3ft of snow to try either one but 10-15 is no biggy.

Their was a thread around 2009 about winter snow stories. That thread will tell you what members were doing in the snow.

I prefer my Laredo over my 94 cummins in deep snow. And I travel 32 miles for work each way. It has nothing to do with lack of traction on the cummins. It's all about just driving it. No fuss. Doesn't even know what's going on while driving the Laredo.

Driving my cummins you are fully aware you are in lock.
