When removing the front bumper cover, the plastic rivets in the fender well have to be cut. what size are they and where do I get replacements. Can I use my metal pop rivet tool or do I need to buy another tool?

Harbor freight has the rivets and rivet gun in a single pack for like 15 bucks. The biggest ones in the pack would match the rivets used in the fenders. A metal rivet gun doesn't really work well for the plastic rivets, middle shank size is different. You can get extra rivets and other plastic fasteners used on our jeeps from clipsandfasteners.com. They sell them in a pack of 25 for around 5 bucks. They're 1/4" round I believe.
For us here in Canada, you can buy what seems to be the same kit at Princess Auto. I ordered one today, we'll see if it is the same thing when it arrives sometime next week.
If you have a Fastenal near you they carry automotive fasteners. I just picked up a pack of rivets used for attaching the inner fender well. The dealer wanted almost $7 a piece and I got a box of 25 for $13 at Fastenal.
X2 for fastenal. I got the gun from HF, and the rivets from fastenal. The rivets that come with the gun are really crapy. They are brittle, and most of them just break when trying to install them. The rivets from fastenal are stronger and a little more flexible
You wouldn't happen to have a part number for Fastenal would you? I was putting off order anything more than the rivet gun + whatever it came with because I live in Canada. But it turns out there is a Fastenal right in my own city!
So maybe I'll pick some up.
