Hey all,

I bought my '98 TJ used, so I don't have the owner's manual. Does anyone know of a digital source? Or, can some kind soul offer to give me their manual that they don't need anymore because they've already learned all they can from it?

Thanks so much,
-Rich

Only the service manual links are forbidden. The OP asked for the owners manual in pdf format. It doesn't exist for the older TJ's. If anyone has a link feel free to post it, it is not forbidden. I have looked for hours all over the internet with no success.

Even Chrysler distributes pdf's of owners manuals for free but they don't go back to '97, it's only available for late model vehicles.

I have a manual for the TJ in pdf. It is not year specific, but should get you out of most jams and answer most questions and it has my 99 down to the T. I hope it is not against the rules, but if you pm me with your email address i will send it to you. I need to break it up into 5 compressed files because it is 23 mb compressed into one and most ISPs will only handle a max of 10 mb attachments... It is well over a hundred pages long, maybe over 200.

You need to either buy the original online and toss it in the glove box or copy one off a friend and print it out. In which case it won't fit in the glove box.

Either way, it should be in the Jeep. In case you're incapacitated and someone else is at the helm.

Even the Jeep Factory Service Manual, all 1100-1600 pages of it depending on year are missing information that is ONLY referenced in the Owners Manual. In fact the FSM tells you to refer to the Owners Manual for certain items. The fuse layout diagrams come to mind right away. You scheduled maintenance is charted in the Owners Manual as well.
