loose sledge hammer head with fiberglass handle

How would you fix a loose head on a sledge hammer with a fiberglass handle?

On a wooden handle I would just drive a wedge into the top, but I am not sure that can be done with a fiberglass handle. I am also wondering if maybe trying to get some epoxy in there would work.

Duct tape fixes all.

unless something is stuck, then wd40.

Grab the handle just below where it goes into the hammer, with the handle pointing down, and slam the handle onto the ground/cement. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
If it gets loose again, throw handle away, buy new handle.

I've had that happen... I've done the smack it into the ground thing to get by for a few months, and then eventually I just replaced it with a wood handle. You can cut the fiberglass handle just below the head, and the top part will slide out of the head (especially if its already loose). Buying a new handle was cheaper than buying a whole new sludge hammer. Because sludge hammers aren't easy to find, and when you gotta hammer some sludge, you don't want to be without one.

I ended up just trying to fill the gap in with epoxy. The head only moves 1/32 of an inch or something so I don't think it is going to come off. It also is a short handle so it isn't above my head

I don't want to deal with replacing the handle because I have never seen a replacement fiberglass handle and I keep breaking wooden handles. I have broken 3 wooden axe handles and 1 wood sledge hammer handle.

You're supposed to hit stuff with the head, not with the handle 1 inch behind the head.
