thank, appreciate the info, but i just want to replace(swap) the oem that has my jeep right know with the 10.1 comes from the factory, please correct me, this one is the oem ???? waiting for your coments

I'd also like to see if this is possible and what would be needed to do it? Looks like it's just a bit larger and there might need to be a GPS connection to it somehow...

I sourced a screen, pulled the old one and plugged in the new one. Sound works, the CarPlay populates on the iphone screen, but the display of the Jeep only gets 3 lines. Supposedly, you have to go into the BCM and change the display setting from 8.4 to 10.1 to make it work. I dont think thats possible yet

that looks like a problem inside the unit possibly with one end or other of screen ribbon cable connection
probably why it was sold

thats exactly what i thought, but searching in the facebook JGC-L groups, three people said the same thing. One guy rebooted twice and claims his works. the other 2...and myself, werent that lucky

PCM? TIMP? Excuse my ignorance, my first Jeep since I had a 97 Wrangler. I’m used to the VW/Audi software lingo

PCM powertrain control module what Chrysler calls the engine/transmission ECU

TIPM totally integrated power module - module under hood with fuses and removable or built in relays that acts as the master node between the three separate Can Bus digital message networks
Can C usually 500kbps for engine management
Can C diagnostic usually 500kbps how PCM data gets to OBD2 port for scanners and dongles
Can IHS usually 125 kbps the bus for all the interior modules like radio climate control ect (IHS = interior high speed)

Ok. I knew PCM, but the rest is interesting. Thank you. Still not sure whether this can be done or not. But thanks. I asked my dealer and they weren’t sure. 🤷

Mine had the lines too but it corrected itself after I plugged in the climate control/radio volume module and turned off the car off for a period of time. In your image it appears that module is not plugged in.
