I am new to jeeps...this is my first. 2006 rubicon with 80 highway miles..never been offroad.

When traveling down the road at any a fairly low rate of speed (lets say 25 mph) and I run over a bump with the left tire the jeep will rock left and right over and over for a few seconds.
Is this normal? Almost feels like my shocks are gone....Or a linkage has been disconnected for off road purposes....although I don't have any linkages underneath that can be disconnected like that..

Not sure if this is normal or not? anyone?

A little rocking is normal because of the solid axles, but if it's excessive, it could be an indicator that shocks are bad or your sway bars are disconnected or somehow broken. It's hard for us to tell if what you're experiencing is normal because we don't know how much rocking is happening.

You can always test drive a new Jeep for comparison.

It will rock considerably more than most modern cars, SUVs or trucks, but it certainly should not continue for a few seconds after. That would seem to me to be worn shocks, but then again, one can't accurately diagnose internet descriptions. Your few seconds could mean anything from "doesn't feel like my lowered rice burner" to "my shocks and sway bars are missing completely"

Update...after tightening the front trac bar, replacing front sway bar links....the front is tight.
The rear trac bar was replaced along with the rear sway links and now the rear is much tighter. Still feel I may need rear shocks but the death wobble is done and I would say it rides 90% better.
