We take our vehicles into Firestone only because of one reason and that is the lifetime alignment and balancing to the life of the vehicle and not the tires. Every time we take one of our vehicles in they call with a list of problems that most of the time don't even exist. Today, they call me after I took my wife's car in to have the tires balanced and aligned saying that the tires are bad. BS, they were just replaced 6 months ago and she has had the aligned and balanced since then.
Other examples:
1) Took my wife's Jeep to have a screw removed from the tire and patched. They call me up in just a few minutes saying they can't patch it because after they removed the screw, they realized the hole was too close to the wall to repair. I knew that was BS. I asked them to put the spare on and they said they are prohibited from putting spare tires on. I really got mad then. I told them to put the flat tire back on and drive the jeep into the parking lot that I would change the tire to the spare and have it patched, which is what I had to do. The place I took the tire to patched it and have not had any further issues.
2) Took my wife's Jeep in for an oil change. They call me up and ask if it is ok for them to start repairing it. They had added up a $1,900 bill, which only a fourth of that work was required. Of course, I said no.
3) I took the our other Jeep in and get a call saying the sway bar was bad. I really got mad then because we had just replaced the sway bar three months before, as it was bent when we purchased the Jeep. I told the guy to back right up that it had just been replaced 3 months before. I checked it when I got home and it was perfectly normal.
There are other instances too, but it just seems like they are trying to rob people. Of course where this Firestone is, they have the upper hand over a great many that take their vehicles to them because this is in the downtown, white-collar area of Nashville and I am assuming most of the white collar people here would probably fall for their BS.
