Governor Pressure Above 3 PSI When Request Is 0 PSI

 

well, I had that information already, my friend came over with his OBDII Scanner, but that still doesnt answer my question

 

anyone??? im going to the shop for a few issues tomorrow, I dont want to have to spend an arm and a leg on this

and where are the connectors? is the governer an external module? like something i could check out? or is it within the engine

 

Yes pic is from Alldata....

If you dont see the problem or correctly diagnose it, you may consider the diagnostic at a shop. May save you money in the long run if your guessing...

 

Replaced that and the soleniod on my WJ two years ago.Easy fix just get the parts from the dealer,drop the tranny pan and there right there.

 

Replace the gov pressure solenoid the gov pressure sensor both as rrubio has suggested.

I would strongly suggest going to the dealer. Then they will ask you for the VIN number of the Jeep. You will be handed two parts that are made exactly for your vehicle. Some parts get several revisions over the years. I would not trust an auto parts store in this case.

 

do you know how much they cost?

 

It about $ 115 each if my memory is correct.

 

and the install? ive never done anything technical, on a scale of 1-10 im probably a 5 or 6, is it easy enough to do myself? or should i let a mechanic do it

It does not look hard to change. You must remove about 16 or so stinkin bolts to drop the tranny pan (replace this filter and a new pan gasket) and then remove the two parts from the tranny.

The 3 bolts that hold the filter on are Torx bolts. I do not remember what size. I might have written it down at home?

 

I got the same thing taken care of under warranty about 2 weeks after I bought mine, about an hour fix at the stealership, 2-3 hours alone at home on jack stands

 

by any chance did they say how much it woulda cost if it hadnt been under warranty

 

nope, but all stealerships are different.

 

you guys really know your stuff...it was the solenoid and sensor...$130 each
