Hey everyone i took my idle air control valve housing off the throttle body to clean it. Well no one makes a replacement gasket for it. So i used blue sensor safe rtv gasket maker on it i let it set up for 6 hours before reinstalling. Will that be fine or should i take it off and cut a gasket out with gasket paper? Please help me out thanks.

Isn't there an o ring that seals this up?

I suppose, from the outside yes. Haven't had any issues. Even busted one of the allen heads off putting it back on, and never got around to replacing the bolt  seems to be fine. :dunno:

That's good to hear I didn't want to custom make a gasket with the paper I don't think it would seal air tight like the gasket maker does. I just worried that it would flake off the gasket maker and get sucked in the intake. But if yours is fine mine should be. Did you use blue sensor safe gasket maker too?

I don't know about "sensor safe" I think mine was just the plain old blue rtv  I laid it on pretty thin. I never considered it flaking  I'm not going to lose sleep over it now though. :D. But still, good question.

They changed over the years my 99 just had a gasket and a plunger that worked as a valve and the seat was part of the TB . My 05 has no gasket and it has a valve and seat with an O ring on each side to seal it off and that is all part IAC . They made a few fuel system changes in 05-6. It also has only one screw under the IAC to hold it on to the TB . You can still get it off without removing the TB from the intake to clean it .
