Hello all. A few years ago I saved the diagram John did on the firewall plug. I still have the link but it's no good anymore. Can anyone post it here again? It helped me immensely on my last restore. 81 scrambler. Thank you very much in advance.

This one?
It's says 84 to 86 but 81 just had less wires but the ones used are in the same place on the connector.

I can get you a better one when i get back from the doctors.

John, would it be the same or do you also have one for a 1979 - 1980 CJ5? (1980 was a transition year model so 1979 normally applies to mine) I have some firewall connector wires that have been hacked of and I would like to know what they were to. I think it was the ignition modules but my schematics are too hard to understand to be sure.

Thanks.

The previous diagrams wont help you on that connector. That's a late 70's connector used from 76 and part of 80.

Those cut off wires in the first picture all look like they went to the Duraspark ICM.
Are those 3 red wires in the second picture cut off also? They seem to end at the frame of the picture.

I've added some pictures of the 76 through 80 bulkhead connector. If the print is hard to read I also added the PDF version.

All the wires come out easily, Just squeeze on the contact terminal and pull from the wire side.

I never could figure out what they packed these with. Tar, wax, something else.

Might try searching for vintage electrical parts for jeeps or something and see if anyone still sells new ones.
