The time is fast approaching for me to acquire new meats for the Jeep...
Currently, I am running the 34.57" Cooper STT Pro. I love the tire, its has performed great in just about every condition I have thrown at it, and it's definintely on my list of possible re-buys. Only downfall to them that I have had is I sliced one of my sidewalls with just over 1,000 miles on the tire, and they have been wearing a bit on the faster side than I'd like with a four tire rotation instead of the five I had originally planned.

My options that I am looking at are the:
  • 38/13.5r17 Milestar Patagonia M/T
  • 38/14.5r17 GoodYear MT/R Kevlar
  • 37/13.5r17 Cooper STT Pro

I have read a lot of good about the Patagonia, but everything seems to be from people out West. Located in Ohio, I run a lot of trails with slimey, moss covered rocks and muddy hills. I am skeptical of how they will perform in these conditions. I have heard they do well in snow, so I am not too worried about that aspect. They are also the cheapest of the three options I am looking at, so that is also a positive.
I have mutilple friends running the MT/R Kevlar in 35"s to 42"s, so I know how they perform here in Ohio, they're just the most expensive tire of the group.
Lastly the Coopers, I'm willing to buy them again, but kinda wanted that 38" tire...even though none of them are a true 38"...and the STT Pro isn't a true 37".

So, does anyone have any experience with the Patagonia M/T in the NE/Midwest?

I have heard that they are a softer compound, but they seem to wear very well. I am thinking I will probably go ahead and pull the trigger on them and see how they do and put the information out there on their performance for others who are in my perdicament. I won't be getting the tires until the spring though as my Coopers still have a bit of life in them and I have run into some issues that are a little more pressing than tires...

As for your comment on the Coopers, I have really liked mine honestly. They have performed well in all the conditions I have put them into. I would say they're one of the more quiet M/Ts when compared to the Nitto Trail Grapplers, and they clean mud a lot better too. A lot of my local friends here in Ohio run them from 35s up to 40s and no one has really complained about them.

I'm researching some of the same tires. The STT Pro seems to get a lot of reviews about it being noisy on the road and rough riding. My cousin has the Patagonia M/T and they are smooth and very quiet on the road. They do well in wet muddy fields and the compound is very soft. But, they are hard to find. Currently the 35s are sold out everywhere I'm looking.
