Okay if anyone can help it would be god sent. I made tube fenders for my 1999 TJ Wrangler Sport 4.0 and installed LED lights. I cut out the turn signal and marker light for the single LEDs. I placed the wrong battery my jeep and it fried my marker light 20 amp fuse. Fixed it but now the dash illumination doesn't work. I have spent a week checking every fuse twice. Is there something I am missing? Could me cutting out the marker lights cause a problem with my dash lights. And I did replace the headlight switch. My brake light, airbag etc... Works fine. Have no A/C or heater illumination either. I have to drive with a mini mag light. Help

Recheck fuse 3 in the fuse block behind the glove box (should be bottom row, second from left), that's the fuse that gives power to all your dash and instrument backlighting. If the fuse checks out OK, check that you're actually getting power to that fuse socket.

I speak from experience, i just took my jeep in to local auto electric shop after I noticed my rear running lights were not working as well as my dash and ac panel lights. The previous owner had installed T and T high line fenders on the jeep and just zip tied the old harnesses under the hood as he mostly used the truck for offroad/weekends so he never got around to installing new blinkers or side markers on front of vehicle. Electrical shop told me jeep was no longer making a complete circuit with front blinkers and running lights unhooked which causes the dash lights not to work as they are all on same circuit. Had the shop install new led blinkers and running lights on jeep and this brought the dash lights back to working condition.

If you plan on using one LED fixture to act as both the marker light and turn indicator you have to hunt down a dual polarity unit. They had to order mine from i believe it was Petersons? And unfortunately i do not have a wiring diagram. I leave the auto electric to the pros since its such a headache.

Well this is why I am not an electrician. I used to work at lowes part time and was so frustrated talked to my buddy Bryan. He asked if there was a black wire with white stripe. Yup there is and it's positive. I spiced a ground wire to a positive wire. I feel completely stupid. Gonna rewire now and see if this is the fix. Johnny Jeeps idea will be plan B.
