Had a big piece of the center dash area cracked and damaged beyond repair in my 1991 'sahara'. Looking all over the place, all I can find to replace it is the 'spice' color (like a orangish, mustard yellow) while mine looks like a pale, light tan... What is the name for that color? Just light tan? (anyone have a spare?)
Thanks..

I thought there were only three colors: spice, gray, and black. I had an '87 that was white and everything on the interior was spice. Are you sure yours doesn't match?

Aha! Finally the question appears on the board. I've been looking for years as well, and I think the color is "sand." I have the same color, too.

Is this it?

If so, from what I've gathered it was only offered in the sport roll bar years, but only 89-91 that I've found. Got my seats out of an 89, mines a 90, and I think I've seen a Sahara or something else that was definitely a 91 with the 4.0L

I love this color--very hard to find manufacturers that do anything for this interior color. Very rare interior color. Like mentioned before, basically everything else is a black, grey or spice setup. Best advice I have for your is to be very patient and check eBay.

OR

Do what I did with my half door panels. I purchased some SEM aerosol spray can paint from the local body shop, and it happened to be almost EXACTLY the same color. It's called "Sandstone."

Here's a link to the product.

I took half doors--originally grey--and turned them into the "sand" color of my interior by just spraying this paint. Sorry, I looked through my picture arsenal, and literally don't have any of the half doors :brickwall: I'll have to get some at some point. But seriously check that paint out. Lifesaver.

For those who have the 88's, that's news to me, but great news!

Sounds like we need to urge the aftermarket guys to help us out with interior matching parts

The "sand" color was available in YJs from '87 to '91, Spice replaced sand after that.

There are very few parts available in that color and the best you will be able to do is color match it with paint.

Doctor Especki has not been here since 2020 and I just did a yahoo search for the product mentioned in post 12 from 2010 and it turns out that the SEM product can be purchased from an obscure online retailer you might not be familiar with. Lucky day!
