I've been looking at the Chilton's manuals and haven't found one for a 99 Cherokee.

Do I just use the "Chilton's Jeep Wagoneer/Comanche/Cherokee: 1984-98 Repair Manual"?

I assume they are the same pretty much. Is there a better one than the Chilton's edition?

Thanks.

I have a 99 and yes, the 98 Chilton manual for all practical purposes will be okay.

I have a Chilton manual but don't use it much anymore since buying an FSM (Field Service Manual). The FSM is much better than a Haynes or Chilton. A lot of times you can find the needed FSM on ebay....try browsing there. The FSM is much more detailed and more "specific" for your 1999. It's worth a few more bucks....

I checked, but nothing under FSM or Field Service Manual. I'm not looking to swap engines or anything too advanced, just maybe change oil, air filters, etc. Simple things. As my parents don't trust me doing repairs of any kind because I have no formal training except on a 1 piston lawnmower engine.
