First, I am hurting from head to toe.

Took about 2 solid days for me to complete everything starting from about 10 AM till about 5 PM, yesterday and today. While I had everything off I addressed the following since I was doing work under the Jeep.

  • Address two broken bolts on the drivers side for the steering box mount and the shackle hanger. Drill out bolts since they were rusted in. Retap holes.
  • Grind away booger weld from previous owner repair
  • Install M.O.R.E. steering box mount
  • Remove and reinstall M.O.R.E. steering box brace
  • Install front and rear M.O.R.E. shackle hangers
  • Paint rust prone areas. Removed front shock mounts, picked out chunks of dirt and sand. Reinstalled with new hardware.

I decided to go big or go home and opted for the Fox shocks option from BDS. I have used Fox shocks in the past on other platforms with great results.

The ride is rather interesting feeling. The new springs and shocks definitely seem to soak up the little bumps extremely well. Less clunks and rattles inside, even with the open top. Big bumps in the road feel the same to me. Handling has been greatly improved with a lot less body roll. I used Crabtree Tool shackles without the center spacer due to the military wrapped spring ends. No driveline vibrations I can discern of yet.

Overall I am more than happy. What I also love is the look of my CJ. To me it has the perfect stance. I am rolling on 32” BFG All Terrains on American Racing 15x8 Outlaw II wheels.

Feel free to ask any questions. In a few weeks I will be changing out my calipers, rotors, adding SS brake lines, and a new master cylinder. Time and money….

Before and after.

I like it. I have same, 32" tires and 2.5" lift. I think that combo gives the CJ its best looking stance.

Years ago I had 33" x12.50 tires and a 3.5 - 4" SkyJacker Soft Ride suspension and hated it. Between harsh ride, Jeep wandering and driveshaft vibrations, it was time for that spring set to go.

I purchased it directly from BDS. With the Fox shock upgrade, I just checked, the kit is about $1,436 not including shipping. I had it shipped directly to me which was additional, but from my understanding, you can opt to have the kit shipped to one of their authorized dealers for free.

Just full disclosure, I am no way affiliated with BDS. Just wanted to share my experience and review since I couldn’t find much about. 2.5” kit, mostly it was about the 4” kit.

Yesterday, I took my Jeep on the freeway and got it to 65 mph with no driveline vibrations. I am extremely happy with the kit.
