This is barely a technical problem but I guess it qualifies...

First off...I bought my first Jeep last Friday :)pickle:)

I was going to take my son on his first trip in it this weekend. Got the carseat installed and went to put in him and noticed that the back bench was able to rock forward. Turns out the bench is not secured to rear bracket that holds it down.

It doesn't look like any of the brackets for the bench (front or rear) have been relocated. Is it possible the previous owner put a "deeper" bench from another model in and it doesn't fit the stock brackets? Any other ideas on whats going on?

Yeah, the wrong pin was used on the bracket as well which moved the seat back a little bit. I swapped the brackets and used the other pin and the seat is catching the bracket and anchoring down now. Need to adjust the catch brackets in the rear and bend the front brackets in a little so they sit a little more securely on the pins but everything looks good. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the feedback. Nice to know what the solution is as it helps when people search for the same problem.
The groove in the pins is for a little clip. With a clip either side the seat won't slide out of the bracket if you have it tipped forward to carry something in the rear.

This shows the OEM clips. I never had any and found something similar that I added a pull tab to.
