i dont have any pics but i have info.... i get 21 mpg in my DD xj with 235/75-15. they are the BFG AT KO...they hold their own off road as well (pretty well for a stock jeep) i myself have been thinking 30x9.5 as i will soon need new tires. i think that the 235/75-15 is about 29.5 in diameter, shouldnt make a big diff in mileage.

 

I had 30x9.5 on my jeep when I bought it. They were Dunlap somethings. I put Wrangler 235/75r15 on. They are within a fraction of an inch in width and height. Tire sizes vary by brand.

and no you wont see a big diff in mpg if ur going to a change in tire that is that minimal.

 

I really dont think 30's would effect your mileage really at all.

 

what are the reasons to take a 235 over a 225 or vice versa?

 

235 is aprox a 29" tire. 225 is aprox a 28" tire. Bigger meats=greater clearance

 

plus a 235 is 10mm wider.

I have 235's on my stock upcountry. Was going to go 30 or 31 eventually.

Better in pic 2. This was before the 3" lift and with saggy rear leafs. No rubbing either.

 

I run 235 HT's. My mileage sucked but it sucked back when I had 215s.

Bump...anyone got pictures of BFG A/Ts on stock XJ in 235/75 15????

 

This is stock with sagging rear leafs and bfg at's in 235/75/15. I ran that size for years with the XJ stock.

This is the same tires with a 2" budget boost.

 

biggest you can go without modification or rubbing. i think they are great for stock.

 

New Up Country replacement springs and shocks all around, 235/75 Duelers on stock steelies.

Don' have a current photos but have run several XJ's from 84 up on 235/75-15 either Michelin LTX MS or Cooper Discoverer AT's and they do fine, actually the 235's on my 2.5 engined XJ seems to get better mileage then with 225's as I had the Coopers in that size before.A good tire but a little cheaper in price, 235/75-15 is the Timberline A/T, had those before also on 92 XJ with 4.0.
