So I'm finally tired of staring at my warped leather dash and I'm going to replace it. Been looking for some sort of a diy or instruction on removing the dash panel but i cant seem to find one. Does anyone know if there is one floating around on the web?

That sounds very brave! Be sure to document everything with photos if you go ahead with it. I'll bet many could benefit.
Not too brave for me, I'm a BMW tech so I probably have a dash out every couple of months. The issue here is knowing where the screws are hiding and the order of how things come out to avoid breaking anything.

I just noticed that the instrument panel cover removal is included in the trim removal PDF referenced in the Modification Write Up sticky thread. Search the PDF for "instrument panel cover"
I found it, that pdf is exactly what i needed! Thanks alot.

There is a book of steps in the FSM. I'd suggest getting a three day pass from tech authority and download what you need.

Here are the removal steps for the cover, most of these have dozens of steps nested below:

Remove the floor center console

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

Remove the steering column assembly

Remove the left end cap

Remove the left and right side cowl trim panel

Remove the instrument cluster

Remove the radio
Remove the instrument panel storage bin
Remove the A-pillar trim panels

Remove the HVAC ducts on left and right A-pillars.

Using trim stick, separate the retaining clips and remove the defroster grille

Disconnect and remove the center dash speaker.

Remove the glove box

Remove the right silencer panel

Remove the instrument panel cover screws around the center dash, around the perimeter, and around the passenger air bag support from the instrument panel reinforcement.

Remove the instrument panel cover from the instrument panel reinforcement disconnecting any electrical connectors as needed.

Remove and transfer any parts from the cover as necessary.

Edit: it seems that the cover is not sold separately, the entire instrument panel structure gets replaced, about $700 from discount dealers. The PDF will show replacing the panel, similar to the above.
