Greetings all!

This is an embarrassing thread to begin, but I’m conflicted. My jeep has sat for 2 years now. There’s a long back story as to why but basically, as it sits now, the transmission/ transfer case are out. The TC is completely dismantled the transmission is sitting, rebuilt.

We’ve decided to sell it. I just don’t have the time needed to dedicate to it. So my question is:

Do I part out the jeep? The jeep itself the body, the engine and the frame are all together. But sell that, the trans and the tc separately. I feel like it would save who ever buys it the headache of trying to figure out what I did or didn’t do or what i did wrong (most likely the case).

Or do i attempt to rebuild the tc, and get everything back in? There’s much more to this but this already long enough.

In its current state. A lot. It has no wiring, no seats (but have the original seat brackets) but I have all the parts to rebuild the TC. And a new throw out bearing. And some bad left front sag.

but life man, sometimes just kicks you in the face lol.

You'll spend years trying to sell parts, and deal with thousands of people that will bring you headaches, not reply, bargain and haggle for days for lower prices, etc etc. Then there is shipping the pieces one by one. And how much more money will you make on a part out?

I vote you donate it to a local school or try to sell it as is to someone who really wants to fix it up. If it's a kid, drop the price lower and sell.

Oh No!

I suggested the Donation thing!

I was unable to pull up your location information on your Profile,

It's as if it was never filled out to begin with???

I was just wondering if you were right here in God's Country, South Carolina

Or if you would have to tow it a long ways to get it to me?

Are there any "special" parts there?
T18?
Engine upgrades?
Power steering?
Disc brakes?
A solid windshield from a pre 76 is worth money as are complete working steering columns.
Parting out can be a long process and a bit of a hassle, but a T18 with the adapter in working condition should go in the 5-8 hundred dollar range.
Disc brake 30 in the 250.00 range
Lift springs, new/good shocks, power brakes booster, working speedometer, good wheels and tires all will sell. Many times this will add up to more than you can get for selling it as a basket case.
