Remove + batt cable. Drain oil. Remove starter size 12 female torx two bolts and two wires. remove dust shield off tranny Two large bolts 19mm and nuts 11/16 and two 1/2 on each upper side.
Remove 4 1/2 bolts on four sides of oil pan. Then remove the other 7/16 bolts around pan. One then skip one and so on as not to bend the pan. Remove Oil pan. Look inside the pan for a piston skirt or any other horrible crap. Take this opportunity to look around at the internals to look for any possible damage. Scrape gasket from pan and block. Wipe clean. Carb or brake cleaner works good. I at this time wire brushed sanded and painted my oil pan. clean all bolts. The oil pump is held on with two 1/2 bolts one longtowards the rear of the pump and one short in toward the front. Remove these to remove the pump. Again scrape the gasket surface. Unbolt the one 1/2 nut on the oil pump screen and feed tube. Pull to remove. Clean off the oil pump feed tube and screen. Again carb or brake cleaner. Inside and out. Use a 5/8 wrench and a hammer to tap the feed tube and screen onto the new pump using the lip on the feed tube. Fill new pump with oil turn shaft until empty and again until oil starts to drip from feed tube and pump is full with oil. Although make sure you have a 1/4 inch of space before the gasket or top. Dont want to spill it when you put it in at the angle. clean oil from top of pump. Apply gasket to top of pump. Put into place on block. Insert two 1/2 bolts apply to 17 pounds of torque. Put Oil pan back on with new gasket. Make sure the rear part on the gasket is inserted correctly this part is a B****. Start with the four 1/2 bolts at four corners and work out from there again every other one until tight. Then put back on the dust shield. bolt it up. Put back on starter. You need to wedge it on there it does not go on straight. Bolt on the two 12 female torx bolts. Put back on wires. The wires are 5/16 and 5/8 if I am correct. Fill with oil. Remove coil wire. Hook up battery. Use starter to turn motor until oil pressure is reached to prime pump. Please correct anything I may have mixed up. Any tips are appreciated and encouraged.
