2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee - 153,000K

Believe it or not, I have had not a single issue with this truck. It has had good maintenance. However, I am getting a PO732 and the car seems as if it has no power.

The transmission fluid had not been changed in about 50k. So, I changed it and it actually made it worse. I'm thinking even though the fluid was old, this came all of a sudden. I never had any clucking noises and it shifted smooth as butter.

So, I think it's something electrical.

1. Changed fluid and filters - kind of made it worse

Possible Next steps
2 . Replace Speed Sensors
3. Change shift solenoid
4. Replace Transmission Control Module
4. Worse Trans rebuild? - it just doesn't seem like it needs it. When manually shifting it still drives fine.

I keep hearing all sorts of answers, but there is always a percentage of specific failures. With this code what is the most common problem?

Not the possibility, But the most common. Because this is a big decision. Get rid of it or keep it. I have another vehicle I only use this to haul and pick stuff.

spend somewhere around $500-600. But, I am not spending $3000-4000k for this vehicle.

So, based on that code what percentage has the highest rate of failure?

When its overfilled it will foam up... which may impact pump performance, pumping foam is not the efficient. I doubt thats whats happening in your case, but you never know.

OK, not may are aware of the inch difference across the temperature range, and that you do need to know the oil temp to be accurate.

it may be actually overfilled.

Cold measurements- slightly above the line, 1/4 of an inch
HOT measurements - it's a little high 1 inch above the line - because I added 12oz of Lucas Transmission fix

I doubt it's low, No leaks

As said before
The temps are fine right around 150-174 when driving stop-and-go traffic. Highway temp even goes down to 125-135. Highway driving 80MPH+ no issues

The fluid level check procedure is in this thread:

It could be in a limp in mode. In D, does it start off in 1st, or does it start out in 2nd or 3rd? Is it only lack of power from start, but also highway speeds?

The V8 transmission is also sensitive to levels and there is a procedure for accurate measurements.

Cold measurements- Right at the line
HOT measurements - a little high - I added 12oz of Lucas Transmission fix

I just changed both speed sensors and then I reset the computer by disconnecting the battery overnight. it worked fine for about 10 minutes, then it started doing the same thing. threw another PO732.

When you go from a stop to 1st to 2nd to 3rd. it is very slow, but once it gets to third it rides fine. The temps are fine right around 150-174 when driving stop-and-go traffic. Highway temp even goes down to 125-135. Highway driving 80MPH+ no issues. But when do go from 1-2-3 it makes a horrible gurgling sound then quits after 3rd gear. I rode next to my son while he was driving it, you can hardly hear it from the street even from a red light stop. it's a low gruble and you can definitely hear it inside the cabin. I thought it was the engine, but when in neutral and you rev the engine it sounds normal.

With the low-level gurgling noise and p0732 code, I think it's something internal. Stange when I pulled the pan before, I saw no sentiments. it was dark and slightly burnt but clean.

I can try one more thing which is Shift Slienoid, but I might be wasting my time and money. I think it's done. What do you guys think?

V6 Gas?

Draining fluid removes friction material that helps the clutches, so draining fluid can make a slipping clutch worse, flushing certainly does.

The NAG is picky about fluid level... The maintenance/repair sticky thread in the WK2 forum has the proper procedure, its easy to get it wrong.
