1998 Grand Cherokee - Quadratrac 4WD system

I just bought a 1998 Grand Cherokee V8 and I have a couple questions about the 4wd system... It has the "Quadratrac" full time system which means that the t-case can only be locked when its in Low Range. My major traction concern is for deep snow winter driving, when low range probably wouldn't be appropriate. Does this mean that my jeep (unless in 4lo) will send the most torque to the wheels with the least traction?? If so, how bad is this thing off road / in deep snow?? Unless, is there somthing in that t-case that acts like a limited slip differential so it would shut down a slipping wheel/axel?

Also, I've heard that there's an option for a limited slip rear differential... how can I tell if my Jeep has one?

One more... My truck doesn't have tow hooks on it. I drove over to the Jeep dealer and looked at one that has them, and they don't look at all like just standard hooks... front and rear, they've got some pretty unique looking brackets that connect them to the frame. Where, besides my dealer service dept. can I get a set?

Thanks a lot!

96 and later ZJ t-cases lock 50/50 in low range. To tell if you have a limited slip look on your rearend for a metal tag. There are 2. One goes from one bolt to another, thats your standard issue ID tag. The other is only there if it has an LSD. THis tag sticks off the reaend and attaches only to 1 bolt. It is about 1 inch in length.
When in full time mode, the power is split something like 40/60 f/r. When the rear begins to slip, a viscous coupling in the t-case starts putting more power to the front until you eventually get a 50/50 lock. By this point you are usually stuck. So for serious off-roading, keep it locked in low.
