Hello, first post here,

I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ and just got a new pioneer head unit in the mail from curt field with their “ReadyHarness” service where all the wires are pre connected. But, the ground wire is connected to a small loop and I cannot connect this to the existing stereo ground that connects to the original stock cassette/tuner stereo. Do I have to connect it to the stock wire or can I connect the loop ground to something else? Thank you for any and all help.

Below is a photo of the “loop ground” wire I am referring to

The chassis is the ground. I think when I did mine, I extended the wire and used one of the screws near the trans tunnel on the driver's foot well side. I also put in an amplifier just above the radio. It was a smaller $100 one. I had planned to put components speakers in the door, so I needed an amp.
