no one is likely to have one as it would be easy to break. most people try to make things stronger on their jeep, not make it weaker
Actually, i'm pretty sure the material is shatter resistant, and won't crack or break, but it will bend and that's why people don't use them cause a nice sharp pointed rock into it bending the cover right into your ring gear = not good.

Wow guys, talk about judging a book by its cover!!!

Most of these things are AS STRONG, if not STRONGER than your stock stamped cover. Now, are they as strong as a cast iron ARB or gusseted Spider Gear cover? NO! But they weren't designed to be. They were designed to a.) Look cool, and b.) allow you to check out your diff/lube without pulling the cover. Are they the ideal choice (in terms of strength) for the hardcore frequenter of the Rubicon or Moab? Probably not. But at the same time, I think they are a lot stronger than you guys are giving them credit for! Jeez, it's not like a small pebble kicked up from a semi is going to shatter them or anything.

I'm willing to bet that not a single person who is saying they are fragile has one of these. Because if they did, they'd know that they're not some piece of saran wrap covering their differential.

The diff covers DO come with fill holes, if your diff came with them. Now, on their website, they show the Corporate 14-bolt axle, which does not have a fill plug on the cover. It's on the pinion-side of the axle housing. The Dana models (30, 44, and 60) do come with a hole and rubber fill plug. See below, these are what I have on my 5.9 Limited:

Guys, don't knock it until you try it. For someone like me who owns a Jeep that sees only OCCASIONAL off-road use, the compromise in strength compared to the burly cast-iron covers is well worth the cool looks. And yes, mounting an LED in the cover does look BADASS (Ask me how I know)!

^ LMAO......... you crack me up. I dont know why you are getting so worked up over a FRAGILE CLEAR diff cover. Did you really put an LED in there or are you kidding? Besides, how does a D44 cover work on a D44A?............ oh yeah thats right, IT DOES NOT

LOL, apparently I didn't do a very good job of communicating. I'm not worked up, just not a whole lot to do right now. It just bugs me when people say that something is a POS when I'd be willing to bet they haven't ever tried it. If someone comes on this thread and says "I bought one of those and it cratered the first time out", then that is a legitimate questioning of their strength. But to make the blanket statement that they are crap without trying them is just ignorant.

That being said, I don't want to mislead anyone either and I will say that these things are not the strongest things on the market. Then again, they aren't claiming to be.

Can it withstand an excavator smashing it? Our expectations are a bit high.

You guys are right, I got carried away. I apologize. If you want the ultimate in strength, look elsewhere. If you want something that looks good on the street and still has "pretty good" strength, this may be the cover for you. I like mine. And yes, I did put an LED in mine (tacky, I know). I won't lie, it looks pretty ricer at times. It's good for a laugh with most people. I wired it to a switch tho, so I can turn it off. A by-product of having too much time on your hands, I'm afraid.

^ I'm still wondering how you got a D44 cover on a D44A...............................

Clear GearZ

Go to the "projects" section and you will see who else uses these covers..........
