Hey i live in Gilroy, CA and am always looking for trails (other than hollister hills). Any body know about any trails in my area that are good for 4x4ing.

I don't know of any right in the area, but I'm originally from Morgan Hill, and now live in Campbell. If you do ever get out to any trails or Hollister, hit me up.

They are all great places to wheel. Come check out our forum at www.4x4Him.com and post up on the lets go wheeling area. There is always someone going. I grew up in San Jose and the wheeling areas have gone away! There where places up Mt Hamilton. There is a place up Paterson Pass off Hwy 5, I have not been there in years. Here is my Blog. with videos of our area!

thanks, i forgot about clear creek. only been there once but im definatly going to try to plan a trip up there .
too late they closed it with no plan to reopen it due to asbestos.

I'm a monterey guy, not many people to wheel with around here so anytime anyone's going, if you could message me that'd be awesome. i hate to go with toyota guys

With the drive from Gilroy, you might want to make a weekend out of it. The Dinkey Creek, Huntington Lake, and Shaver Lake areas are very close together and you could probably do at least two of the easier trails in a day.

I've been wheeling that area for the last couple of years. I ran Bald Mountain when the TJ was stock. I also did it in 4 ft of snow. Last summer I ran Red/Coyote Lake with Cal4wd. The second half of that trail is a blast!. The first or second weekend of June I'm planning on running the Swamp Lake Trail with my brother and his YJ. It is a beautiful area and the wheeling can't be beat. Some of the trails are just as challenging and scenic as the Rubicon but there aren't any crowds.:shhh:
