This weekend i installed a 62mm throttle body and 4 hole injectors in my 4.0wj. Hoping to get better fuel economy and performance.
I had to open up the intake and the gasket to match. As well as adjust the trans cable. But my avg fuel economy on my dash reout went from 19-19.5 to 24.5 on my first 30mile ride to work. Great! But today i only got 22.7. Hope this is just a fluke. Love to here if anyone has any insist on this topic.

My understanding is that the readout calculates fuel usage via injector pulse width. Larger injectors will cause the ecm to shorting the pulse thereby fooling the evic into thinking you are using less fuel.

You can only tell for sure by manually calculating your mpg...

That's kinda what i was thinking. Planning on doing it the old fashion way in upcoming weeks. Either way the performance gains are awesome and definitely worth it.
Are you having any of the hard start issues that others have mentioned with the four hole injectors? Also where did you source them from?

I'm sure my injectors at 150k could use a good cleaning, so why not just upgrade them instead :D

Now you just tap the key and it fires up. As well as the wj now idies smooth as silk. I got the injectors off ebay. leah7306 is the seller. They do a very nice job the injectors come vacuum sealed and perfect like new condition. There 22.7lb/hr @3 bar. And come it all new orings.

Interested in hearing about the final fuel consumption calculation as well.

After recently cleaning the throttle body, AIC valve, changing the intake to a K&N FIPK, and adding new sparkplugs, mine went from 13.6 MPG to 18 MPG. If I broke 20 MPG, I'd definitely do a happy dance!

It takes 70 miles or more for the PCM to calculate fuel usage when using new fuel injectors . I stroked my 4.0 to an 4.6 and used EV6 4 hole Ford 25 pound injectors
still using the stock PCM . So it mite take awhile for the PCM to figure things out . But if you dont like what see just disconnect negative cable for a mimute
if you have'nt all ready did so .

That seller's listings really don't make any sense. They have four listed right now and they are all inconsistent with one another. One is listed for 87-98 and specifies WJ in the title, for $99. The three other listings are for 99-04 XJ/WJ/TJ and are all different prices.

Now, I'll grant that the seller does not know what Jeep models were made in which years, and only cares about the generation of the engine. but all three 99-04 listings appear to only differ in the color of the plastic, and that doesn't explain the differences in price.

Ok here is my results my car's odometer says i went 63.5 miles. My gps says 63.2 miles with an avg moving speed of 52.4mph. I filled up when i left town and after i left work traveled straight back to the same pump and filled up. 3.8 gal so yep 16.71mpg.... f*** can't win for losing. My dash mpg says 21.5 so it like my wife lays to make me feel better...lol

Yep, you can't outrun the laws of physics...

WJ makes a pretty large and ragged hole in the air. The driveline has comparatively large parasitic needs. It weighs what it weighs. And there is only so much energy available in the fuel consumed...

No fancy trick is ever gonna work...

Don't be mad bro 17mpg in an SUV isn't bad. My wj is lifted on 32" a/t an I can get 19-20 on the freeway which I know is pretty good. Depending on how I drive I get 16 around town. Trust me there's a lot of people that wish they could get that here. I have the 4-hole injectors k&n cai, flowmaster 2.5" exhaust and meticulous maintenance. Now in my TJ on 33's I'd be lucky to get 16 oh well.

Strange. I have swapped in some dodge neon 4 hole EV6 injectors, replaced the air filter with a drop in K&N, replaced the stock muffler with a flowmaster, stock cat, and had a local machine shop remove the taper in the throttle body. They didnt bore out the throttle body, still has the factory throttle blade, I just had them remove the part that tapers in directly under the blade, to make it straight through. I am averageing about 19-21 mpg.
Spedo is correct, confirmed it aganst my gps, and I calculate my milage based on miles driven and gallons used. My EVIC is way off, it thinks I am getting around 25-27 mpg....lol
This is a 99 4.0 limited 2wd, stock size tires.

Ok so i made a diy hho set up this week in the hunt fir better mpg. Drove the same route to work and back. I drove 63.3 miles and only burned 3.120 gal of gas. 20.288MPG! Yeah that's right hydrogen works. So all of you can take your so call "laws of physics" and shove it. Chemistry works! I got 3.578 more MPG with a made at home pos wet cell.

You're gonna have to post up some pictures/part numbers/a write up or something on that! :2thumbsup:

Subscribed for the Hydrogen stuff.
