Hi guys. I'm starting to have some funds available for my jeep and a regear (still have stock 2.73) would be beneficial. I usually do all my own work, but I'm not sure if I quite feel up for the regear.

So if anyone has recommendations for a shop in boulder that would great. My old man lives down in the Springs, so taking the jeep down there isnt out of the question either.

If anyone was willing to help me with a regear I would also be up to learning. I brew beer.....: cheers2:

There is a guy that works at Jerrys Auto in Manitou Springs, Co which borders the springs his name is Sheldon. He has built many many nice rigs and wheeled them all to death. If you have any questions maybe call and ask for him.

Check out s.f.f. Customs heard good things about him. Shop down in Parker. He also has a fb page with a lot of his work on there. If down in the springs look into serious off road and talk to frank. Just google that one. He also on cherokeeforum and naxja

I'd stay away from that sff guy, he is nice enough but has horrible business practices.

FrankZ on the other hand is a top notch guy!

If you ever go onto NAXJA, look up DutchVdub. He does gears and he is located in Firestone. Another great guy.

Frankz quoted me $100 an axle for gears and 50$ additional for lockers per axle. Also wants the axles out of the jeep. Sounds like a good deal to me and who knows maybe he would hook you up a bit for the set or whatever idk...

Disagree...SFF josh is an awesome guy. He re-geared my axles to 4.56's. Now he's looking for a explorer DC shaft for me. He is a solo mechanic so sometimes it takes him a few hours for a call back.

Only prob with frank is need to have your axles pulled already before he can gear them. Also Josh at sff does get backed up some. Right now a lot of people getting their rigs ready for Easter... But my friend alex knows him. I know when it comes time for me to gear 4.88s will go to him for it

Sure he's an awesome guy, until you question him on something, or ask for a refund on damaged goods he sells you.

OP: Just do some research on who you want working on your Jeep, watch out for those who take advantage of others or have a bad reputation. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions on the guys I've mentioned.

I talked with both Joshua at Crawltech and with FrankZ. Joshua was great and very helpful on giving insight on my proposed setup. Frank was very helpful to on deciding on gear and kits. I'm probably going to have Frank do it since the heep is in the Springs right now and he will be a little closer. His price fits my budget, and I am all for supporting the smaller local companies.

I'm sure you will be happy with FrankZ doing your work, he is a real stand up guy.

I should have mentioned Crawlertech, I've been using them for years. They do tend to be pricey though.

Who's this Frankz guy, and where can I find him?
You can look him up on here, just do a user search for "FrankZ".

He is located in Colorado Springs, but doesnt have a shop; he runs a online store: http://www.seriousoffroadproducts.com.

He's really knowledgeable about the different companies, install kits, bearings, warranties, etc. As most people in the Jeep community are, he is very willing to share advice and knowledge.
