The factory engine skid plate should cover the transfer case as well, are you thinking of the transmission perhaps? Or maybe the diesel is different from my Hemi

 

OEM had three plates. Transfer case was one of them.

The transfer case was replaced before I bought it, and it looks like they kept the skid plate for it. Does that replacement one just latch onto the fuel tank one?

 

At one end it does, if your fuel tank plate has the provisions for it.

Unfortunately, the fuel tank skid plate does not have the two holes for the attachment of the transfer case skid plate. It is an 07 Overland that on the build sheet had the skid plates listed. So what are my options now?

 

Find a tank skid with the bracket, run without a tcase skid, fab up the extra bracket for the gas tank skid, fab up the custom bracket someone designed on here a few years back, or fab up a custom tcase skid? I think that's about all of them.

IIRC, Steel Armadillo makes an adapter bracket so you can use the factory t-case skid with the basic fuel tank skid. This is a good solution if your tank skid is in good shape and don't need to remove it. I bought one last year but haven't installed it yet. Maybe this spring.
