Yesterday we were getting pounded with freezing rain/rain here and all of a sudden my wipers stopped working. I checked the fuse behind the glove compartment and it was fine, anyone else have this issue?

This happened to me the day I bought it.
I took off the cowl panel in front of the windshield. The wiper motor is under there. Turns out the plug was loose. I unplugged it and plugged back in and all was fine. (this was of course after I checked the fuses were OK).

You would have to take this panel off anyway to replace the wiper motor if thats whats wrong with it.

it could be a bunch of different things, anything from a dead motor to a simple bad connection. not trying to be funny, but this always seem to happen when it rains cuz its the only time you use your wipers.

Well I got the motor out today....cant really tell if its shot or not but I think I will replace it and hope for the best. Is there any way to get the part number for this so I can do some shopping around?
Napa wanted 223.00 for a motor!
Canadian tire wants 130 but wont have it in stock for a few weeks......

Forget that! I ordered one off of eBay from a company called Rubicon Recyclers when mine bit the dust (One of the magnet sections literally disintegrated). It cost me $60, shipped to my doorstep.

Mine started to move really slow for a couple of swipes and then stopped. I also checked the fuse and found it OK. I pulled the cover off and everything seemed to be connected. So I did what my dad always did, I hit it with a hammer. It took right off at full speed and has been working fine for the past several months. Now I'll just see how long it lasts.

NICE!!! I might try that, Mine has been acting up.. not working at first but if I leave them turned on they will start working, working sluggish so I bet the motor is going. Murrays auto parts has a reman motor or $69 or $130 new, Cardon brand I think, made in france... better then China but still not USA.

Not a bad Idea, Mine seems to work find until drops below freezing and then it still works but it is slow and takes a min to start working. I'll clean it this weekend.

if i remember its on the driver side.....you can pull the motor out seperate from the entire wiper arm assemblies.....they have a rubber boot type thing over it. i actually discovered that the rubber boot had been holding moisture in all the time....which rusted the motor up really badly....which i belive to have been creating a "heat soak" type situation. If i let turned the motor on it would run for shorter periods of time (over about 2 months) and the longer i had them on the slower they would go until they would stop....replaced the motor and haven't had a single problem
