Hi everyone, does anyone know what the part(s) behind the plastic steering column cover circled in red are called? I’m trying to fix my turn signal and don’t know how to expose this part or what part to look for if it ends up being broken. This is right where the turn signal stalk attaches btw. Thanks!

Are you asking about the turn signal actuator under the screw? The wiper switch (under the turn signal switch) is the part that the stalk fits into. I replaced my turn signal switch but I don't remember there being anything under the plastic other than the wiper switch. You should look for an exploded diagram of the GM Saginaw column.

There’s the turn signal cam switch and the socket/transfer assembly for the hi/lo beams and the wiper switch under there. You might enjoy life more with the compresser that lets you get the retainer ring out if you don’t already have that. It can done without the tool but I’m not going to do it again without the tool 😬

This is 100% correct. The wiper switch is what is under there.

Our nomenclature may be different, but this is all part of the wiper switch.

Thanks! I do have that tool and we did get the ring off and pulled it off that thing in the center (if that’s what you’re talking about). It definitely made it alot easier. How could I access under that red circled cover there? Just pulling the rest of the stuff out?
