The WJ 16" wheels have 6" of backspacing. I think the 16x7 ZJ wheels are similar.

They won't fit your ZJ due to a different bolt pattern. WJ's are 5x5, ZJ's are 5x4.5. You could buy adapters to make them fit, but thats going to take about 1.5" away from the backspace.

Less backspacing makes them stick out more.

This is correct, lower number backspacing = more stick out.

Do any stock 16s have 4.5 backspacing? according to the tire sticky that's the recommended for my tires.

I have a 2001 jeep grand cherokee wj that has a 6 in. backspacing. im looking to get new rims that have a 4 in backspacing. will they fit with no lift?

 

thread is a little old but if you get 16" explorer / ranger rims from before 99 they have 4.5" bs and a 5x4.5 bp. I cant seem to find them cheap though
