If you're worried about amperage drain, try LEDs. They pull very few amps but have the maximum amount of light output. However they can get expensive if you want to go big. I opted for the same type of method as you but went with a low profile led bar across the windshield of my Yj.



Then again lighting all depends on intended use. You'll notice my lightforce up front. They are the most versatile light on the market. You've got to pay to play though, they cost as much as the bar up top.

 

The stock TJ alternator is 116 amps. I run four 100w lights which only pulls about 30 amps total. There is plenty of capacity left.

 

I thought that a 2001 TJ with the OEM hardtop, 4.0L engine and A/C came with the 117 amp alternator?...

cut the milk jugs off, +1 for bad *** factor once they are off. Also, LED lights are the way to go!
