Stock Alternator Output?

Hi. I just bought my first Jeep today and will pick it up Monday. I got a 2001 Wrangler Sport with the 4.0L engine. One of my dreams is to put a light bar on the roof with 4 nice driving lights. But I know nothing about Jeeps yet.

I just joined this forum today but I assume this topic has been discussed before alot. Is there an FAQ on lighting? I need answers like how many amps does the alternator have left to power ligts after the normal electrical load? What are some good lights? Where are some good places to buy a light bar, lights, etc.

THanks for any help.

If you're worried about amperage drain, try LEDs. They pull very few amps but have the maximum amount of light output. However they can get expensive if you want to go big. I opted for the same type of method as you but went with a low profile led bar across the windshield of my Yj.

Then again lighting all depends on intended use. You'll notice my lightforce up front. They are the most versatile light on the market. You've got to pay to play though, they cost as much as the bar up top.
