Sky Slider deflector

I went to order this deflector off the link you provided from the UK, but I noticed that it requests a choice between 2 sizes with 38.5in being the largest, but when I measured the width of my Sky roof it was closer to 41in. what deflector can I buy to quiet this wind noise down?!?! I've been to the local dealer twice with no improvement or help. I can't believe Jeep hasn't come out with a deflector made for this sliding canvas roof. help!

Maybe they discontinued the 45 inch model? Call them and ask because the 45 inch fits perfect and I don't believe there are many alternatives to that one I have found

I was kind of surprised that Jeep did not have anything also. That's strange that that place in the UK does not have the 45" one any longer. But might be worth a call to ask. I'm waiting for warmer weather to come around to install mine. Other than seeing Youtube videos with some people adding weatherstripping under the front section to reduce the wind noise I have not seen anything else. I also have not tried that. But let us know if you find anything else out there.

This was an email I received from the company...

"Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately, we are struggling to receive these deflectors back in from the manufacturer.
It is unlikely that we will be supplying these again, because of this.
Is there anything else that you were interested in?"

I found this company on EBay. They have the deflector on there as well and confirmed to me today that they do in fact have the 45 in stock.

Its the Direct4x4. Same company that was originally linked. Mine hasn't shipped yet but I didn't buy until Saturday but they did message me that it was in stock.

I just checked their page. You payed $200 for that?! I think that is a little out of hand.

New member here. '08 Liberty with Skyslider.

Just an FYI, I contacted the vendor listed above regarding the 45" wind deflector. The email response was that they no longer carry one that size. I also looked at the Ebay store for the same company and the 45" is listed as not available until February 2014...

I anyone locates the 45" model, please post it; I am very interested in this as a solution to the wind noise.

I got mine but rather than having the 3M tape it has brackets and those do not work. we are trying to work out something to get this thing to work but be careful to NOT order the one with brackets.

I spoke to a roof expert 2 weeks ago and he told me he can fabricate anything he wants out of plexi-glass. He said he could make a roof deflector any size just by having a model in which. I have the 45.5 inch. I guess just add 3m tape and it would work? I would suggest checking with local sunroof shops to see if they can do the same

I ordered what may have been the last available 45 inch models from the place in the UK. It is not the same one that is pictured in this thread. This one is a different design and does not fit well. I am trying make work with small plastic risers, 3M tape, and automotive weather stripping glue because I've spent $150 at this point but save your money if you haven't ordered one yet.

I find it funny we cant find a 45-46 inch deflector out there. Too many SUV's on this planet/
It's even funnier that Mopar doesn't have an OEM one for us!
Who wouldn't buy it?
I would like to get one eventually. I think I read somewhere that your warranty would be voided if you did some sort of aftermarket parts to the skyslider.
I wouldn't be surprised if the deflector helped a bunch and maybe even improve mpgs ever so slightly.

I just bought a 2009 Jeep Liberty with the sky slider and read all 3 pages to find a resolution for the noise issue. Yes I was one of those that only drove it in town and did not notice how bad it was until I got on the highway and interstate. I love the Jeep and especially the sky slider just not the noise it makes.

Anyways I looked on 4x4direct and nothing there for wind deflectors. Amazon has a 41 inch that one person says will work for the slider because he did in on his 2010 but I did not want to take the chance of it not working for mine plus be out the $80.00 so I opted to try the weather-stripping option because seemed to be a quick and inexpensive fix. It WORKED!!

I only did the front - I bought a roll of 3/8 (6/16) x 3/4 it was all they had (no 7/16x3/4) but it worked PERFECT!!! One thing I wanted to add was that when I was installing the weather-stripping I noticed how well the 3/4 fit perfect in a pocket that is already there, as if it was meant for it.. MOPAR did you forget something??

I hope others read all 3 pages of this forum and find a solution that works... I think the thickness can be adjusted based on how bad the gap is but the 3/4 width is perfect no matter what.

I will continue to look for a wind deflector because I still think it needs one.

A wind deflector even an inch shorter would be better than the noise we have to deal with on this poorly designed and executed roof.
That's a great idea. I think I saw that video a long time ago.
If you ever have problems with the Sky Slider, I would make sure to remove it before the techs see it.
