Replacing rear wiper Arm

Hello,

My rear wiper arm on my 2006 Jeep Cherokee got destroyed by a carwash. I am trying to replace it and I can't get this bolt off. Yes I have destroyed the plastic around it, trying to pry it off. I am out of options.

I just got a rear wiper puller, but its too big, since everything around it has fallen off.

Please Help!

Tom,

You are correct, but I had that nut you can see, still left from the old wiper arm.

Once I got that off I could put the new arm over the Bolt and tighten it down.

Without removing that old nut, I could not put the new arm on. So you are correct, I didn't need to dremel the bolt, just the nut.

Thank you

I wanted to let anyone know, in case they have the same problem.

I had to dremel off that nut that was still stuck on. I did buy a wiper arm puller, but I was too far in the process to use it, but I recommend that first!

I had to dremel off the nut, which then exposes the motor thread bolt, there is teeth exposed, (thats how is connects and turns the wiper) so don't be discouraged.

Put it back on and away ya go!

2007 Laredo Rear Wiper Arm

*BUMP*

I think I am experiencing the same problem as Golfpro12...

For lack of the proper vernacular, this 'collar' of sorts around the bolt from the motor is part of the old wiper arm assembly? I've hit with penetrating oil (once), and it's not budging...you used a dremel to cut it off?

TIA for any feedback/direction!

Ditto! Same problem, 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Cut off the nut and replaced with a new arm assy. 15 minutes and done! Thanks for the photos! That gave me the confidence to try.

According to the service manual, that piece is not a nut but a collar that gets pressed on by the wiper nut . If it's stuck you would need to use a puller . That would explain why you can't turn it .
