for a '95 XJ. I need to remove to properly prepare for paint. Any tricks to do it without damaging the trim? How about installing?

Carefully unsnap them from bottom -up. They may not come off very easily. The roof panel usually had sealer oozing out just enough when the body (with the drip rails installed) goes through ecoat ovens it tends to seal amd bond to the drip rail. When installed it is layed across the top and snapped down into place. The clips holding it are replaceable. Put clips on car and snap rail over top of them.

Im having trouble snapping back one of my rain gutter pieces. for some reason its not wanting to snap back any advice? Where do I get those clips??

7ate, the clips are going to be dealer only i would bet. They should snapp over the metal edge of the roof and side panel. Been awhile but i believe theres 5-6 clips per side depending if 2 dr or 4 dr. Then verify the drip rails are not bent from removal or the "C" channel isnt opened up. They almost need to be perfect shape to install. Then useing a soft rubber mallet and hammer them down and in to simulate a rolling over the clips effect. They snap from top to down when drip rail rolls. Use better judgment on your swing to prevent damaging them. We had lots of practice building 400 per shift. But thats how they installed.
