Hi Everybody,

I'm in the market to sell my 99 GC with QD, and I definitely want to get a WK with QD2. It's just too good in the snow to go without.

Is there a quick and easy way to identify if an 05+ Limited has QD2? On the WJ's, there's an emblem on the lower left tailgate. I haven't seen anything like that on a WK.

So, is there a way to identify it's present, without talking to the owner? IE - browsing through cars.com and just looking at pictures.

Thanks!

Try WKjeeps website. Lots of info on there. It may be there somewhere.

There are only two ways to tell, count the bolts, or look at the badging under the t-handle for 4lo.. If it says QD-II then it most likely is, but the only way to truly verify is to count the bolts.

"...I could be wrong but I thought the limiteds only came with QDII. ..."

QDII was available on all three GC models, not the SRT8 of course.

also, WK's with QTII or QDII are both Trail Rated. so, if you see a Trail Rated badge, that does not mean it has QDII, could have QTII.

to be sure: count the bolts on the rear diffy.

That did show in the report that my XK had QD-II (12 bolts and badge at shifter) so that would be another alternative to actually looking at the vehicle while shopping online.

good lord, do a search guys - this seriously is like the 5th thread in about a month and a half about how to spot QDII

wkjeeps.com and the search function are your friend

So I'm interested in a few 2008 WK CRDs, all have the QD2 badge below the shifter, all are "Limited". I ran a vin check on two of them and the build sheets look pretty much identical. Most importantly, both specify "AWB QUADRA-DRIVE 4WD SYSTEM" AND "DHX QUADRA-TRAC II FULL-TIME,ACTIVE 4WD" as well as "MZB QUADRA DRIVE BADGE"

So I'm confused. Did they actually ship these with QT2 but with QD2 badges?!??! Or is QD2 like an add-on for the QT2? Here are the two VIN lookups:
