Hi, All: I'm reading conflicting answers...would someone please answer these questions definitively? Thanks.

I just got a spare remote (unlock, lock, panic) from a junker.

1) Does it have to go to a dealer for programming?

2) If not, what are the programming instructions?

3) If so, do I have to bring all 3 to be done at the same time?

Thanks!

hey if you did this yet how much did it cost you? I'm looking to get another remote but didnt know how much it would cost to get programed.

To program 2 keys and 2 remotes cost me $25 based on $60/hour shop time. Very reasonable, I think. I supplied the keys and the remotes. I bought the keys on eBay, had them cut at my local hardware store. I got the remotes at my junkyard from two clunkers. $2 for both. Now that I have 3 programmed keys (my original + 2 new copies) I can program my own if I lose one.

i bought a remote off ebay and had to go to the dealer, luckly i jus walked back to the garages and found a fellow jeep lover working back there so he jus came out with the computer they have to use and did it realy quick for free. front desk told me they wanted $60 for the 30 second job
