After changing my fog relay toady and starting it up, I get the code P0700 which is a code sent from the TCM to the MIL. The Jeep shifts and drives fine with no issues. Will the code reset after so many start cycles? I really don't want to waste money on a TCM scan if I don't have to. TIA

If you think it's not an ongoing issue have a parts store clear the MIL light (they'll do it for free) or grab a cheap OBD2 scanner from harbor freight and clear it yourself.

If it comes back, you've got a problem. If it doesn't, you're fine.

The light will go off on it's own after enough start/stop cycles if the code isn't being thrown again, just easier to have a parts place clear it and handier to spend the 20ish bucks on your own scanner. Also waiting for it to go off will take a lot longer to tell you if it's still throwing the code, it takes 40 odd cycles IIRC.

I have an OBD2 reader and doesn't clear TCM codes, just PCM. Advance Auto's couldn't delete it either. I ended up doing a hard reset and clearing the capacitors by clamping the positive and negative together for 45 min. That cleared the TCM and so far so good. I think it was just a fluke, at least I hope so lol.
