Opinions on "Rubicon" lettering for side of hood

I've been trying to decide whether or not to put the Rubicon logo back on my hood after getting it swapped out for the AEV one and seeing people get creative with their hoods (Brent f70) I got thinking that maybe I could do something a little different with the lettering. This way I could also make it a little smaller so it wouldn't look quite as crammed with the vents.

What do you think of this:

It's a little different font, but it matches the one used for my Don't Fear the Jeeper logo on the top of my windshield. I'm really undecided so opinions would help.

Thanks.

I don't like that, but everybody has different tastes. If you want a stylized RUBICON sticker, I would go with a tribal style font, and then, I would think that would still be iffy. Personally, I really like the looks of a stencil type font as it reminds me of military style lettering on old Jeeps and even the Willys edition TJ.

hmmmm

Prot, you make a good point. That big blocky font is kinda cool.

I vote against any kind of lettering or badging. I think the "RUBICON" on the front of those things is quite lame. Had I actually been able to take delivery of the Rubicon I ordered (for all I know, it never got built), mod #1 would have been to remove the lettering.

Good luck with your decision :)

Cheers!

For all of the proud Rubicon owners, please install the original rubicon decals.

The hood is sweet and the textured decals will do just fine.

I'm for it to match the personality of the Jeep. If the "Jeeper" is the theme, then I say match it.

I kinda like the Buffy font, but then again I'm wondering how to find a George Romero style font, that looks like the Land of the Dead title for mine, so liking something Vampy isn't a stretch for me.

Plus I also subscribe to the anything different is good theory.

one guy on the other forum named his "RUBIDOO". I thought that was pretty cool  and hated that I didn't think of it 1st  ....not real big on copying others nicknames.
But I think that is is the nature of Jeepers to customize their Jeeps!! Other than maybe a Harley name one other vehicle with the history of available aftermarket parts....customizing is just part of the "Jeep Thing"

Here is a closer look at the texture.....had a couple PM's asking for it

And someone on another forum I believe had Rubitron done, with an Autobots logo above the Wrangler.

I think it would be funny if someone did up a JK in a "GTA San Andreas" theme. All blacked and chromed out - use the San Andreas font style as necessary (for Rubicon and whatever else) - put some nice air brushings of drug deals, gang bangers and cops getting punked. Of course, it would also need the hydraulics, so you could simulate the car dancing mission. That would be slick :)

My wrangler is black, and I've got the Wrangler Unlimited decals on there in black also. I didn't quite want to remove them, but they definitely don't stand out much now.

Not sure if your joking or not but I actually think that would be a good idea!!! You could then put a mesh screen behind it and have the cooling effect of the AEV. Problem would be structural integrity.....Thats a lot of open space
